It is with great sadness that I post Mr. George Kenneth Dempsey Sr. has passed away. I knew him many years ago. He was a great man and very kind. I remember he always had a sparkle in his eyes. I always hoped I would get to see him again. It was an honor to have known him. I know that he will be missed.

William, his girlfriend Noel (on right) and friend Heather (on left) got together this past sunday to complete a Science Fair Project. Their experiment was to see which made a larger explosion... Mint or Fruit Mentos in Diet Coke. The answer was the Mint. The reason is the mint has a more pourous surface while the fruit has a coating. So the reaction is more rapid in the mint mentos, making the gas release faster and therefore the explosion is bigger.

1. What is your absolute favorite memory from childhood? (Is it me? LOL)
Absolute favorite memory.. gee wiz Susan... I don't know....
There were sooo many vacations. Maybe one of them. To say the absolute favorite... hmmm. Some things stand out for one reason or another. But to say favorite. It isn't just one thing, one day, one person or even one place. I had a good childhood. I had good friends, great family and alot of stuff happened in all that time. So all in all I can't pick just one. Sorry I know that doesn't answer your question. Maybe it was Holly the dog, maybe going on family vacations, maybe time with my friends or family. But I really can't say.

2. What qualities do you most hope that your son will have, as an adult?
I just hope he is happy. Qualities that I hope he has ... honesty, caring. loving. A good father to his children and a good husband to his wife. All the qualities he is learning from his Pop. And hopefully some from me.

3. Why do you like living in the place that you live?
I like the fact houses aren't on top of each other. It is nice to see deer walking through the yard, as welll as the bear and other critters. Less congestion. Less traffic.

4. What is your absolute dream vacation?
I love any vacation with my son. But wouldn't like a cruise. Disney is really cool!

5. What one thing in your life would you not change, even if you could, and, what one thing in your life would you change if you could, and how would you change it?
I would not change anything. I hate alot about my life. But I am where I am supposed to be. Even if I hate some parts of it. There must be a reason.
If I hafta say something. I wouldn't change being with Henry... surprise!!! Because the result was William. And my life wouldn't be complete with out him. If I could change something...I really don't know. Again, I am where I am for a reason. I don't know why. But I am just gonna keep on going. Hopefully things will get better. Now if it was a magical wish, I would wish for being free of debt and enough money to not worry anymore.

William has a "girlfriend". Now mind you they are not allowed to kiss. They do not go on dates. They are not in the same class. She did come to his party, but she hung out more with the girls. And when there was a slow dance she didn't dance with him, or even during the fast dances! They do talk on the phone, but he doesn't like to chat on the phone so the conversations are rather short. They both buy each other things on the Webkinz site (which is a website for kids and the stuff they "buy" doesn't cost anything.) It is rather cute.

For Christmas William wanted to buy her a locket. I wouldn't let him. I thought it was a bit much. I gave in with a simple necklace and earring set. Pink stones. And a tin of cookies and hot cocoa. He brought it to her today. He got a note from her. I copied it and pasted it below...

These are the Jets Cheerleaders. They are called the Fly Girls...or something like that.

We are in the Jets practice bubble for the Jets Fan Fest. It was really nice. We met the some of the Cheerleaders and got autographs and pictures. Will ran a race and won a yellow bracelet for Goryeb Childrens Hospital, in Morristown...(sound familiar to some of you?)

This was before the game. I think we could have left at this point and William would have been happy enough.... But the game was AWESOME!

Yes.... it snowed on my Halloween Decorations. No I didn't leave them out past Halloween. It snowed our first measurable snow on the 28th. We received 15 or so inches of the white stuff. It is almost all gone now. But I am sure more is looming in the future!!! It still snowed all day....so this is just as it started and maybe halfway through the storm.

This is the costume William wore this Halloween. We did trick or treat early.

Some of you may recognize the costume. I wore it first as just the Gorilla. Then Susan altered it and made this costume. Frank and Nick both wore it next. Now it is William's turn. Next year Will may wear it again. Not sure yet.

Either way, it got alot of use! If it doesn't fit next year it will be taken back apart and made into just a gorilla again. It is awesome when you are able to use a costume so many times!!!

We went to my friends pub (Woody's) to eat lunch one day. We sat in a booth and watched some football. William ordered chicken wings and a beer...(rootbeer that is)! Even though he didn't want me too, I took this picture. It really reminded me of his father.

Punt Pass and Kick

William was competing in this years Punt, Pass, and Kick Contest at Tobyhanna Elementary Center. He first had to qualify to be entered. Once in the final competion, his combined distance (thrown and kicked) was 181 yards. He tied for 2nd with the boy in the Redskins Jersey. The boy in the middle won with a total of 185 yards. William does n0t play football, and the other boys do, so it is a great accomplishment for him. He is interested in going out for football. Maybe next year he will. One thing funny that happened... when Will kicked the ball...it went into the coaches room and took out a lamp! Go William!! Great Job!!! Except for the lamp!!! OOOPS!!

Blacktop was laid to rest Tuesday, October 7. Although we didn't live with her anymore, Will and I had the opportunity to go over Henry's house and say goodbye one last time. She was about 3 or so, I guess, when I started dating Henry in 1997. I still considered her my dog, even after the divorce. She was a comfort when things were bad. I know that she didn't like some people, and some people didn't like her. But she was a good dog to me and my son. She protected us and made us feel safe. She always greeted us with tail wagging. She would play fetch, chase a light shone on the floor, and give us her paw. She would creep down the hallway at night to sleep by us... and when Henry was not around, she would hop into bed with us. I couldn't have asked for a better dog.
We will miss her very much.

Will and I have a new friend named Domo Kun. We are going to be taking him around to different places and taking his picture. Your job, should you decide to try it, is to figure out where he is. I think that I shouldn't ever plan on anything. My vacation was cancelled. But that was an unforseeable event. NASCAR at Pocono was great. With the exception of my EX blowing off William. So now I am saving my vacation for some other non event in my life. Don't know when. Can't really take the time I would like to... Christmas and Thanksgiving are always taken by the girls with the senority. So when ever there is a good excuse to be off....there ya go.

Camping!

Well, William and I "went" camping last night. We roasted marshmallows on a fire and made smores and slept in our tent. We played cards in the tent by flash light. It was fun. Now my back is paying the price for sleeping on a rock that was positioned just right. I am not as young as I once was, and I think that my days of sleeping on the solid ground are over. Air mattress will be used next time!!! We almost didn't make it camping...the smell of skunk nearby kind of made us think again... By the way...we were really roughing it. We didn't get in the tent till after the NASCAR race was over (10:30 - 11:00 PM) Oh did I mention that the tent was in the backyard? And the fire was a grill?

Wii BOWLING LEAGUE

So for Christmas Gram Jude got herself a Wii game system. William of course was very excited. Now we have started our own little Wii league. William and Pop on one team and Gram Jude and me on the other. I am going to get a trophy to award to the winning team. So far the girls are doing better. But we only had one league day so far. Three games. As I know little about bowling, it is wonderful that the machine does the scoring. Not that the boys would cheat. But there is a trophy and bragging rights!!! Wouldn't want anyone to be tempted to doctor the scores! LOL! We now have an alternate bowler. George was over and he seemed to enjoy bowling. Just hafta talk him into coming over to bowl with us again!
Now if anyone knows where I can find vintage style bowling shirts. I looked online and they are outrageous prices. I do have some one who has an embroidery sewing machine. Just need to get the shirts. Also looking for cute nicknames for everyone and for the teams. Any suggestions. William is W-Dog.

Thought it was about time I posted again on my site. But I really don't have anything to say! Today is my BFF George's birthday (15th). We celebrated tonight (14th). It was interesting to say the least. He is rather entertaining. The waitress put a candle in his beer. He sang country songs. And he made friends with 2 rednecks that seemed to be a bit intoxicated. We made it out alive and I am still sober although I can't say the same for him! I wonder how we can top this night next year??? Hmmm... don't think it can be done!

I thought I should update everyone on Jared. He is home and is recovering. We are waiting on the police investigation and interviews to finish up before we will know what, if any, charges will be filed. Jared's friend, Michael Russo, has passed away as a result of the injuries from the accident. Michael was 19 years old. The driver of the other car was treated and released the day of the accident. His son has since been released from the hospital. He has 2 broken legs.
Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers.

A quick post. I do not have all the information at this time.....The information I have is from Henry and Dawn, (both who are of course very upset and still haven't had all the information given to them)
My stepson Jared was involved in a car accident. He is in the hospital with injuries. There were 3 other people in the accident. Jared's friend, and in the other car a man and his son. I am not sure of the condition of the two in the other car. Jared's frien, Mike, is not doing well.
Please pray for all involved and their families.

What I did on my Summer Vacation

Well I am on vacation right now. Tommorrow is my last day. How time flies. What did I do... well ... not much!!! I did go to the Garden State Art Center with Will. We saw Toby Keith. This photo is from the wall paper section of the http://www.bigdogdaddy.com/ website. Isn't he cute!!! If you go to the site you can register to win a backyard concert with Toby Keith or a new Ford truck. Not bad prizes... I would like Toby, although the truck is more practical!!!

The concert was AWESOME. Except for William being a bit cranky!!! There were alot of streamers and confetti shot from cannons and a bunch of fireworks and stuff! He did all the older songs. Not too many from the new album. I was disappointed I didn't get to hear a few of my favorites, but he has sooo many good songs I am sure it is hard to pick out what the play list is.

And the day before we were at Sue's house for a belated Graduation party for Nick. Monday, Tuesday and today have been uneventful. But that is fine. I really don't have any money and I really don't care to do anything. Tommorrow my car goes in the shop for maintenance and inspection. More money going out!!! Yahoo!!! Oh well...that is all for now!

William will be home tommorrow!!! I can't wait. I am really looking forward to hearing all about his trip.

I asked him what he would like to have for dinner. So we are having spareribs, hamburgers, cucumbers, tomatoes, potato salad and lots of pickles with icecream cake for dessert.

He will be home before me and I made my Mom promise that no one will go in his room until I get home. I hope he likes it!!!

Today they went to Knoebels amusement park. Pop didn't fair too well on the first ride so Will went on by himself. I don't have any pictures of this part of the trip, as of yet. Well almost!!! William's Adventures are almost over. I can't wait to see him!!! I miss him alot. I must say, though, I have been busy. I painted one of the 2 bathrooms and totally redid William's room. I will put photos in here of the redo after he sees it. I don't think they are checking in on my blog, but if they do, I don't want him to see the finished product. It is a totally different room. And not what I would have picked for a color scheme. But that is what he wanted. PINK!!!!! Shocking Pink to be exact.
Well as for his travels...what I can remember them telling me....
They were at a zoo today. They did some NASCAR type race. William won!!! They went to see the St. Louis Arch. The line was too long to wait to go up in the arch. (2 hours) I think they said Indianapolis Speedway is tommorrow. For the 4th of July they have Knoebels planned. And HOME AGAIN on the 5th!!! I can't wait to see my boy! Mom and Dad, too!!
Now I just have to clean up the house.....after all the hot tub parties...beer bottles and the like are everywhere!!! lol!!! I even came up with 2 mens shirts!!!
No really....after remodeling William's room I have junk everywhere!!! 2 dressers, shelving unit, painting supplies, drill, nails, hammer, and lots of laundry!!!! yuck!!
I need to sleep now. I only had a few hours last night. So TTYL.

Today William was a finalist in TEC's Annual Spelling Bee. He competed against his fellow 3rd grade students to see who would go to the District Regional Spelling Bee. He was worried about being the first to spell a word and also about being the first eliminated. Fortunately neither happened. The words started off easy. But did get harder as they went on. One of his words was "pennies", which Gram and I felt was appropriate...(he has a wheat penny collection). I am not sure at what point he was eliminated, but I think he ended up 6th. Not bad, especially since that means he is 6th best in the 3rd grade!!! I think his nerves got the best of him. The word he missed was "future". But it doesn't matter where he finished...he is still, and always will be A #1 to us!!

Well I haven't been on lately. Spending most of my time on myspace and solitaire when I actually go on the computer.
William is going to be in a spelling bee. I don't know the details but I will let you know the results. School is almost over!!! Then he will be on vacation with Jude and Pop for a few weeks. I don't do anything now!!! What will I do then??? Probably more nothing!!! LOL!!!
Still no change on the dating front. Not that I am out there looking.
Work is the same. I just finished testing for product certification. Wow was that a pain!!! But it is finally over and I am happy for that. I hope they don't come up with some new way to torture us. They did order me a name plate after 2 years of being there. I didn't really want it. I have been told that when someone gets their name plate they usually end up quitting!!! So maybe it is a good thing.
Well I don't know what else to say. I hope all is well! Good night!

I haven't posted much about the chicken man. Lately he hadn't been in. Unfortunately recently he was involved in a car accident. I do not know any of the details except to say that he was in critical condition when taken from the accident. The photo in the paper showed the car. It did not look good. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Susan's blog is very deep. I am very impressed. No really I am! I am not a deep person right now!!! I am a cranky #$%^&*! I really have very little to write about lately. Haven't seen chicken man in a few days. (scary that this is something important in my life!) Nothing on the dating front.(well no more than what has been going on) Nothing exciting happening in my life at this moment. But don't get me wrong. Nothing exciting also means nothing bad!!! I may not be deep, intellectual or even slightly interesting...but hey, I am good with that! So to all you fellow boring, shallow and lazy people out there just like me....Have a nice boring day! I received an email the other day from a friend of mine. She used to be my roommate about 12 or so years ago. Instead of explaining her situation this is a copy of what she wrote....

"Hi Sandi & Will,
Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We celebrated with my family this year. It's the first time since we've been married. Robb actually had the day off. That was the good news...the bad news is that my mom has Melanoma throughout her body. We found out the day after Thanksgiving that it was Melanoma, 2 weeks later after many tests the doctor told us mom only has 4-6 months to live (that's with treatment). She actually feels pretty good & the doctors think it's a miracle that she is not bed ridden. She began radiation shortly after Thanksgiving & just finished a round of Chemo. We are truly praying for a miracle for a complete healing in her body. Heather is getting married in February and mom plan on being there, she even booked her annual vacation to Nantucket with dad the end of July. She doesn't feel it's her time to go and is totally expecting God to heal her. I come up every weekend and do my best to help dad out. She has lost feeling in her legs below her knees, kind of like they're always asleep, because of a tumor pressing on her spine but she's still walking around. Please keep her in your prayers. Just found out today that they had to stop radiation for a couple of days because her blood platelets, which are supposed to be 150 are at 60, we're praying that this will improve in the next few days or she may have to have a blood transfusion. On top of all that Robb's grandma died on December 20th & they had the funeral on the 22nd. Merry Christmas it was not but we are thankful for a God that gets us through every situation and a wonderful family (and church family) to help us along the way. If you're ever in Stroudsburg on a Sunday you should stop in at the church and see us. It's on Ann Street behind the Ribbon Factory. Again, please pray for mom.

Chicken Man Strikes again!

Time for the Chicken Report! It has been some time since I have reported to you on chicken man. Mostly cause the holidays kept me busy. Well yesterday he came in and dropped off the latest in rubber chickens. This one is edible. Now mind you I won't eat it! I offered $5.00 to any of my co-workers who would eat this gummy chicken confection, but alas no takers. William is begging me to let him eat it....the child has no good sense! I have posted pictures of some of the rubber chickens below. Past and present! I have one more chicken at work that I have not photographed yet! But I am hoping to get one soon!

These are the first of the rubber chickens of the month. I have one more I will take a photo of at a later time and show you. When you squeeze the smaller chicken what looks like a cracked egg (yolk and white) comes out its butt. The other two just feel weird.
This one is a gummy chicken... The package is a bit on the retro side... Says it is lemon flavored...eww!

Today I went to bring a good friend and co-worker to visit her Aunt in Sewell, NJ. Her Aunt is in the end stages of cancer. She has a tumors on her brain and also in her pancreas and one other organ (I am not sure which). She reminded me a lot of my Grandma when she was first starting the decline. This woman was aware and could speak, but somehow was not all there and was rather detached. My friend Bea probably would not have made the trip alone and I really felt for her.

Another sad note. The husband of a good friend of my Mother in law passed away this morning. Tom was not doing well for sometime. Willie, his wife (Wilma), had been keeping friends and family updated via email. I did not know them well. Willie was at my baby shower, as was Tom if I remember correctly.

Please keep these folks in your thoughts this holiday season.

I made some floral arrangements for the holiday season for work. I had made some for the fall season. Everyone loved them. Some customers even wanted to buy them from me. I made some Christmas ones. They look nice!

I am going to post a picture or two to get you in the holiday mood! Please note that yes these pictures are all part of my holiday decorations from this year! None of the pictures I am posting are old. And yes that is a fully decorated Christmas tree. Yes there are lights outside of my wing of the house...even some out front, although the ones out front are not operational as of yet. Yes my shopping is done and yes the presents are all wrapped. They have been for some time now. You must remember, I am a single mom with a very limited income. I have been shopping since before Halloween so that I could afford to get everything I wanted to get for everyone!!! Also note that the Christmas color scheme this year is blue, black and silver!

It is 3:00 in the morning and I can't sleep. I slept for awhile, but now...well, here I am. Let's see. What to type about.

Thursday was parent teacher conferences. Now if I was a betting person, I, and so many of you, would have said Henry would not have gone to the conference. But to everyones surprise he showed up. Of course he had to ruin it by showing up smelling of booze and looking to me like he was half in the bag. Good going. I should have expected it, but as usual I hoped that he would be a good father, and at least be sober. I don't know if the teacher was able to tell, but I have a keen sense and know all the signs. Most people can't tell.

Enough of Him. William was why I went to the conference. As I expected he was given rave reviews by his teacher. I am very proud of him. This was his first report card with letter grades. Previously all the grades were checks or pluses. Now they are real grades! He got A+ (99-100) in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Spelling. A (95-98) in Reading. For gym he got a G (85-92) and he got O (93-100) in Hand Writing, Art and Music-Vocal. I find it funny that he didn't get a better grade in gym. I guess he is like his Mom and doesn't really care for it!

Will was student of the month this month and Henry got to see his picture on the bulletin board outside the office. I had already seen it. Also for Veterans Day he had to do a project about a veteran he knew. He did his on Uncle Glen. It is also hanging on a bulletin board at school. When we get it back I think I will send it to Uncle Glen. I think he would like it.

William introduced his Dad to his teacher. He was very nervous. He stuttered a bit and turned beet red! It was sooo cute. He wants to set his Dad and his teacher up. I am all for Henry dating someone new. I HATE his present girlfriend....commonly known as the TRAMP.

The teacher said that Will is very responsible and helpful. She thinks that sometimes he is bored. She wants to be sure he remains motivated to learn. Unfortunately there are alot of kids in the class that are not up to where he is and sometimes he has to sit there and wait till they can catch up.

William, so far, has perfect attendence. Hopefully he can keep it up for the whole year. If he does, he will be entered to win an Ipod. I told him not to keep his hopes up. There is a drawing of all the perfect attendees. So odds are not in his favor! But I hope he gets a full year of no absences!

While I was on vacation there was a Chickenman sighting!!! Just like the elusive Loch Ness and Bigfoot, the Chickenman is rarely photographed! Lucky for me there was a crafty photographer lurking out there. He was able to snap this picture to prove once and for all that YES Virginia there is a Chickenman!!!
